Computerized Test Analysis of Multiple Choice Medical Examination

Abstract

|
A multiple choice item is a question presented with a number of possible answers or an incomplete statement accompanied by a number of possible completions, only one of which is correct. This type of test is popular because it can be scored objectively. However, as a result of the possibility of guessing, the scoring of multiple choice tests is a problem. The usual method for dealing with this problem is to attempt to correct for the effect of guessing on a person´s score.
This study is to review the related problems of improving the quality of multiple choice questions and interpreting the significance of scores on multiple choice examinations through computerized test analysis.
